Tick Bite Fever by Dave Bennun

The story of how a how bemused and accident-prone small boy from Swindon discovered Africa in the 1970s. Bennun spent his formative years in Zambia and Kenya and has since become a writer. For the young David, danger reared its head at every opportunity, but luckily he lived to tell the tale.
Born in Swindon in 1968, Dave Bennun's family moved to Zambia in 1971 where he fell ill and was soon diagnosed with meningitis. He survived and in 1973 the family moved to Kenya where they lived for the next 16 years. When he was 18, Dave returned to the UK to take a place at the University of Sussex. After graduation Dave landed a job at Melody Maker and then moved to become Features Editor at Loaded. He is now freelance, lives in Brighton and writes for The Guardian, Observer, Mail on Sunday, Sunday Telegraph and GQ. He is also Jeremy Clarkson's co-writer for his chat show, Clarkson. They wanted to call the show Paxman, but the producer overruled them.
