The TIDE by Nik Pollard

Chug Chug Chug...A fishing boat slips from the harbour, chugging out to sea on the high tide. The Tide is a boldly illustrated and wonderfully rhythmical picture book about the daily changes brought by the tide on the seashore. Children can follow the little fishing boat as it leaves the harbour, and join the cockleman and wildlife as they search for shellfish left behind on the shore by the retreating tide.
The Tide is Nik Pollard's first book. Nik studied natural history illustration at the Royal College of Art and regularly exhibits his work in various London galleries. He also illustrates books on wildlife for the RSPB and other nature organizations. The idea for The Tide came while on holiday in Norfolk. Nik lives near the seaside in Kent (Faversham).
