Kempadoo's story is utterly captivating and while also asks unsettling questions about relationships, wealth and responsibility. Oonya Kempadoo was born in England of Guyanese parents in 1966. She was brought up in Guyana. She has lived in Europe, various islands in the Caribbean, and now lives in Grenada. Rain Out'a Season is her second novel.
