Tilting the Tower by Linda Garber
This collection addresses the phenomenon of lesbian/gay studies in education from a variety of political and pedagogical perspectives. Section one offers perspectives from college and high school educators and reflects on classroom dynamics, lesson plans and strategies. Section two covers educational politics outside the classroom and addresses questions of job security, professional history and academic guidance. Linda Garber is associate professor in the department of English and the Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Santa Clara University. She is the editor of Tilting the Tower: Lesbians/Teaching/Queer Subjects and the author of articles on lesbian literary criticism and lesbian studies.
