Arina Tanemura's manga career began in 1996 with the publication of her short stories in Ribon Original magazine. Tanemura rose to prominence after the release of I.O.N in 1997, and she has remained a prominent force in shojo manga ever since, with series such as Phantom Thief Jeanne, Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon, The Gentlemen's Alliance +, and Sakura Hime: The Tale of Princess Sakura. Full Moon and Phantom Thief Jeanne have both been made into animated TV programs.
