
Jim Vrabel is a former newspaper reporter, who then worked for many years in Boston city government as Assistant Director of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and Senior Research Associate at the Boston Redevelopment Authority. A longtime community activist, he was a founder of the Back of the Hill Community Development Corporation and of the Academy of Pacific Rim charter school. Vrabel is the author of When in Boston: A Timeline and Almanac, co-author of John Paul II: A Personal Portrait of the Pope and the Man, and the author of a play, Homage To Henry: A Dramatization of John Berryman's Dream Songs.
