To the Edge of the Sea by Christina Hall
This text is a memoir of the author's childhood in the 1940s and 1950s on South Uist. It analyses the hardships of her life up to the end of secondary school, also interweaving the culture, characters and events of the various islands during the era of her story.
After graduating, Christina Hall married British soldier Colin Hall and travelled and lived in the Far East and South Africa before settling down in the UK as a teacher for more than thirty years. She took early retirement to pursue her interest in writing, and moved to Glen Spean, Speyside.
