The Tomb In Seville by Norman Lewis
In 1934 Norman Lewis and his Sicilian brother-in-law Eugene Corvaja set out on a journey to visit the cathedral in Seville, the site of the Corvaja family tomb. Spain is on the brink of civil war so the travellers embark on foot, walking a hundred miles, sleeping in caves and seeing parts of Spain no tourist had ever visited. Bullets fly around them in Madrid. They are forced to take a detour into Portugal, where they come across a village where a witch has recently been burnt at the stake. And when they finally find the Corvaja tomb, things are not quite what they expected . . .
Norman Lewis was born in London. The author of thirteen novels and fourteen works of non-fiction, he died in 2003.
