Trading Places is a book of poems that was inspired by my relationship with Christ Jesus. I have included the first poem I ever wrote, My Life Is Like an Island. I wrote it when I was fourteen and not yet a Christian. There is quite a contrast to the poetry I have written after becoming a Christian and my first poem. Having a personal relationship with Christ Jesus is truly life-changing. As the Word of God is written in our hearts, we are inspired to grow and serve. It becomes natural to share the good news. Life becomes less about me and more about, What would you have me do for you, Lord? He told me to put the poems that He inspired into a book. After all, they were not written for me only. They were written for all of us. I had no idea how to publish a book, so God showed me how.
