Transforming Primary ICT by Steve Wheeler

In this book, student teachers are encouraged to go beyond the question ′how?′, and to ask the question ′why?′ we should use ICT to support the primary curriculum. It raises challenging questions about the use of technology through curriculum applications, and global issues and classrooms of the future, and promotes new ways of thinking about the use of ICT in teaching and learning. It also provides an international perspective for the use of ICT from schools in several countries.
Steve Wheeler is Senior Lecturer in ICT and Education in the Faculty of Education at the University of Plymouth. He has almost 30 years experience working in media and technology, predominantly in nurse education and teacher training. He regularly teaches in colleges and universities in the UK, USA and Czech Republic. He currently edits and reviews for 5 international academic journals and is a member of the British Psychological Society and the UNESCO IFIP Working Group 3.6 on distance education.
