Transition Farms by Bev Buckley
In 1975, the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press published the Austrian Geographical Name Register. This work was the world's first to implement in full the recommendations of the United Nations on the preparation of name registers. A working party of experts in toponymy has now set out to publish a new edition of this out of print work. The Austrian Geographical Name Database is a complete revision of the name register to satisfy today's requirements. It is work of reference for all those involved in the worlds of academy, economy and administration who require information about the location, spelling, pronunciation, administrative classification or category of a geographical object. It comprises around 7500 names. The basis is the 1:500,000 overview map of the Federal Office for Calibration and Surveying, supplemented by numerous other names of important geographical objects.
Bev Buckley is an Australian farmer, educator & writer. She has been farming over 16 years and grows 60 different crops organically and teaches others how to grow their own food. Bev & her husband Geoff have initiated a highly successful weekly farmers' market, community gardens and a community farm.
