This book is designed to help EFL and ESL teachers with the practicalities involved in setting up and managing self-access study facilities. The first two chapters describe activities that help to overcome problems such as learner-resistance. The remaining chapters contain many ideas and suggestions for activities dealing with the four skills, grammar, vocabulary and social language. It is from the series that gives the classroom teacher and organizers of in-service training courses a guide to the practice of key aspects of language teaching and considers some of the underlying concepts.
Alan Duff served twenty-three years in military leadership, retiring as a major in 2005. He then served six years as an elected official in local government. Duff founded Duff Companies, LLC in 2009 and currently serves as president of this company. Alan's first book Fixing America's Shattered Politics: Practical Steps Concerned Citizens Can Take to Regain Our Lost Government was published in 2016. Major Duff now speaks across the United States about American values and how citizens can make positive impacts in the political arena.Duff's background includes extensive experience advocating for our nation's veterans. In 2013, he was awarded the Veteran Advocate of the Year award by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.
