A Traveller's History of Germany by Denis Judd
There were Germans long before there was Germany. Germanic peoples lived for centuries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe with similar yet not identical languages and culture. This book offers an authoritative history of a country, whose rich past and legacy of great culture has been forgotten after the traumas of the two world wars.
Denis Judd is Professor of British Imperial and Commonwealth History at the University of North London. He appears frequently on radio and is a regular reviewer for most national newspapers and literary journals. Professor Robert Cole is Professor of History at Utah State University and is the author of France and Paris in the Traveller's History series. He teaches many courses on Germany and has travelled widely within the country. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in the UK in 1994.
