Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable by Damien Hirst

This exquisite hardback book with leather-ribbed spine presents the second volume of a series of Damien Hirst's drawings on paper, rendered in a range of mediums including silverpoint, charcoal and ink. The drawings form part of Hirst's most ambitious project to date, 'Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable', presented at the Pinault Collection's two Venetian museums - Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana - from April to December 2017. The exhibition marked the ?rst time in the Collection's history that both museums have been dedicated to a single artist.

Damien Hirst was born in Bristol in 1965 and studied at Goldsmiths College in London. He staged the now-famous 'Freeze' show in London in 1988. In 1991, he had his first solo exhibition, 'In and Out of Love,' in London, and the following year, he was a significant part of the pioneering Young British Artists exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London. In 1995, he was awarded the coveted Turner Prize in London. Hirst's art has been featured in numerous notable group and solo exhibitions around the world. He divides his time between Devon, London, and Mexico.
