Elizabeth Kuti was born in England, studied at Oxford University and King's College, London, before moving to Ireland in 1993 to study at Trinity College, Dublin. Since then, she has worked as an actress with many Irish theatre companies and also joined the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex. As a writer, her completion of Frances Sheridan's eighteenth-century comedy A Trip to Bath, renamed The Whisperers, was produced by Rough Magic. She has also adapted Paul Smith's novel The Countrywoman for Upstate Theatre Company.
