Trees of South Florida a Guide to Common & Rare Native Species by Roger L Hammer

Trees of South Florida: Packed with vivid color photographs, novice and expert tree enthusiasts can use this handy field guide to identify 64 native species€both common and rare€found in south and coastal central Florida, from Titusville area on the east, south to Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, numerous state parks, and the Florida Keys to the Dry Tortugas.

The trees in this guide are grouped by mature size and the accompanying text indicates size, bloom period, and other characteristics of each tree to make identification as easy as possible. The guide's six double-sided panels fold up into a packet narrow enough to fit in a back pocket. Lamination makes it both waterproof and sturdy enough to stand up to repeated use.

Roger L. Hammer is a professional naturalist who works for the Miami-Dade Parks Department as the director of Castellow Hammock Nature Center and as a part-time educator and fieldtrip leader for Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami. He earned the Charles Brookfield Medal and the first Marjory Stoneman Douglas Award. He currently resides in Homestead, Florida.
