The Truth About Fire by Elizabeth Hartmann

BETSY HARTMANN, a writer, educator, and women's rights advocate, has influenced national debates on population control, environmentalism, and national security through her writings and appearances. Reproductive Rights and Wrongs: The Global Politics of Population Control, now in its third edition, confronts the powerful myth of overpopulation and its harmful effects for women's reproductive health and rights. She is co-editor of the anthology Creating Threats: Biofears and Environmental Anxieties and co-author of A Silent Violence: Perspective from a Bangladesh Village. The Truth About Fire and Fatal Election, two of her political thrillers, look at the threat the Far Right poses to American democracy. Hartmann is a senior policy analyst for Hampshire College's Population and Development Center and an emerita professor of Development Studies. She is a resident of western Massachusetts.
