The Truth About Rachel by Deanna Lynn Sletten

Everyone believes Rachel is dead. But she's very much alive.

Rachel Scott Emery's life unravels when she comes upon an old news article online that states she was killed thirty-five years ago at the age of eight. Even more shocking is her murderer was her then sixteen-year-old brother.

Realizing she must untangle the mess, Rachel leaves her Tallahassee, Florida home and goes back to Casita, California to prove she is still alive. But going home again isn't easy. Believing that her parents had relinquished custody of her years ago to her beloved aunt and uncle, she slowly learns what really happened. And unearthing the truth, when so many in town want to leave it buried, becomes a daunting and dangerous task. What really happened the day little Rachel left town? And who is the little girl buried in the grave?

Deanna Lynn Sletten grew up on southern California's sunny coast before moving to northern Minnesota as a teenager. That's a narrative in and of itself. Her desire to write books was sparked in a college English class, and she has continued to write in some form or another ever since. Deanna discovered self-publishing in 2011 and self-published three novels she'd written over the years. She was hooked after that.

Deanna adores creating memorable characters in her inspiring women's fiction and romance stories. She has also authored a middle-grade tale that takes you on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Her stories express her beliefs in fate, destiny, love at first sight, soul mates, second chances, and happily ever after. Deanna is the mother of two grown children.

When she's not writing, she can be found strolling the forest paths near her house with her lovely Australian Shepherd or resting in her summer boat on the lake.
