Dr. James B. Beard is one of the world's leading turfgrass agronomists, and has published several best-selling books on turfgrass culture and management. He earned a BSc degree from Ohio State University in 1957 and both MSc and PhD degrees from Purdue University in 1959 and 1961, respectively.
