Turtlemen by Andra Simons
Turtlemen a myth born from the loss of myth. A book of prose, poem and play arising from generations of a people who were isolated on the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, a people torn from their continent and severed from their ancestral stories.
'There are so many paintings I want to make having read this beautiful, amazingly visual materialAndra Simons shares a series of deep insights into a world full of people bursting with high energy, tangible emotions and an understandable urgency, in an extraordinary collection of sumptuous writing about lives lived at the frayed edges. It shudders with layered sound, bittersweet tastes, and everyday objects made mystical.' - Lubaina Himid
