The Twins by John Wallace
Lil and Nelly are twins but they are twins with a difference -- many differences, in fact! Lil is neat and tidy; Nelly is very messy. Lil likes pink things and sensible shoes; Nelly likes oil and fast food. The twins are always fighting, but when they win joint first prize for the best project in the class, they realise that together they make the perfect team. AGE 3-6
'A delightful portrait of two conflicting personalities.. The symmetry of John Wallace's lively illustrations on the page reflects the conflicting yet complementary nature of the sibling relationship. While the artwork succeeds in being reassuringly uncomplicated and the dialogue accessible and economic, this is a book with sufficient substance and humour to withstand plenty of revisiting.' Alexandra Strick, Guardian Education Sep '98
