Uglier by Kelly Vincent
Teen artist Nic Summers is starting her first semester at a boarding school in Oklahoma City. She hopes she can redefine herself in this new place, a million miles away from her small town in the northeast part of the state. Nic is gender nonconforming but she's not sure that term is the right one. Her lack of femininity caused big problems in her hometown, but it doesn't seem to matter quite as much here. To her surprise, she makes some new friends right away and even meets a boy named Mack, who seems to like her back, for once. But the best part of being at the new school-despite the demanding course load of math and science classes she has to take-is that her new art teacher is committed to developing Nic's already impressive skills to make her a real artist. She's even competing for a spot on a mentorship program with a famous local artist. Never before have things looked so good for Nic. Everything is going great until she accidentally says something horrible to Mack and ruins everything. Can she turn things around by stepping out of her comfort zone? And can she be more honest with herself about who she really is?| SKU | Unavailable |
