Laura Sessions Stepp is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist for The Washington Post's Style section, where she focuses on teenagers and young adults. Her writing has appeared in Parent, Child, Working Mother, Reader's Digest, and Harvard's Nieman Reports, among other publications. She has been a resident scholar at the National Academy of Sciences twice and a member of the United States Senate. The board of advisors of the Casey Journalism Center on Children and Families at the University of Maryland is chaired by the Surgeon General's Healthy People 2000 panel on adolescence. Stepp and her husband live outside of Washington, D.C., with their three grown children.
