This book brings together experts from Britain, Europe and America to analyse the complexities of the political, economic and cultural relationship that exists between America and Europe in its historical and contemporary context and to assess the long-term consequences of the divisions that have occurred as a result of neo-conservative influences on American foreign policy.John Baylis is Professor of Politics and International Relations at the Department of American Studies, University of Wales, Swansea. His research interests include Anglo-American Relations, Nuclear History and Arms Control. He is the author of over 20 books including Anglo-American Defence Relations (1984) and Anglo-American Relations since 1939: The Enduring Alliance (1994).
Jon Roper is Professor of American Studies at Swansea University. His research interests include American political ideas, the Presidency and the impact of war on American politics, culture and society. He has published Democracy and its Critics (1989), The American Presidents (2000) and The Contours of American Politics (2002).
