Two brothers are asleep in their bed when a pinwheel flies through the window and into the hand of the younger boy. He stands in front of the window, and soon he's flying through the sky where he sees a chicken, a sheep, a cow and a pig. The wind carries the animals back to their farm and the boy back to his home, where he passes the pinwheel along to his brother.

Joe Cepeda earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach, then went on to Cornell University to study Engineering. He is a superb artist who has also illustrated more than 35 book jackets and children's books. Hey, Hey, Hay! was illustrated by Joe. Up and I Dig are two I Like to Read books that he both wrote and drew. Joe was awarded the Pura Belprè Honor by the American Library Association, as well as the George G. Washington University's Recognition of Excellence Award.
