This collection is devoted to those fictional characters who battle with the undead, calling on all their powers of bravery and detection as they try to halt their terrifying adversaries. The authors include Bram Stoker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Anne Rice, Robert Bloch and Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.
Peter Haining was a prolific editor of anthologies and collections throughout all subgenres of fiction, and he also wrote his own short stories, recently a series about the Second World War. He collected and edited several books about Sherlock Holmes including The Sherlock Holmes Scrapbook and The Television Sherlock Holmes to tie in with the iconic Jeremy Brett series of the eighties and nineties. He died in 2007.
