
FRANCES J. FRANCES J. FRANCES J. ROBERTS (1918–2009) is best known for the hymn Come Away, My Lover, which she wrote in 1918. In 1964, she formed The King's Press, where she wrote and published Come Away and eight additional works, which sold over 1.5 million copies over the course of 30 years. Roberts served as Florida's state director for Child Evangelism Fellowship after graduating from Moody Bible Institute in 1938, and during her time there, she wrote the renowned Wordless Book Song. Roberts was a talented pianist who also taught at a Spanish mission school and worked as a professional accompanist, performing at a variety of churches.
