Very Best of Wes Magee by Wes Magee
A collection of the very best of Wes Magee's poetry bound up in one fantastic volume. Wes Magee is a highly talented poet whose poems have been widely anthologised, but this is his first single poet collection for MacMillan. What is the Sun? The Sun is an orange dinghy sailing across a calm sea. It is a gold coin dropped down the drain in Heaven. It is a red thumb-print on a sheet of pale blue paper. The sun is a milk bottle's gold top floating in a puddle.
Wes Magee was born in Greenock in Scotland. He was formerly a teacher, but became a full time author in 1989. Since then he has published four collections of poetry for adults and more than sixty books for young readers. He has a touring poetry show which he takes to schools and libraries nationwide. He has appeared in various anthologies for MacMillan and in our Sandwich Poets series, but this is his first single poet collection for MacMillan.
