He joined the British Army in 1977, and having retired in 1994 subsequently rejoined his regiment, the Irish Guards, in 2001. He has previously written Kolin 1757: Frederick the Great's First Defeat, and Assaye 1803: Wellington's first and 'bloodiest' victory for the Osprey Campaign series. Simon lives in Wiltshire, UK.
Peter Dennis was born in 1950. Inspired by contemporary magazines such as Look and Learn he studied illustration at Liverpool Art College. Peter has since contributed to hundreds of books, predominantly on historical subjects. He is a keen wargamer and modelmaker. He is based in Nottinghamshire, UK
