Violet Existence by Katy Wareham Morris

Moods, reveries, erasures; In Katy Wareham Morris' Violet Existence surprising reflections on gender and sexuality are wrapped in the chaos of real life. The poems of Violet Existence are wild and dynamic, the lyric I fragments and splits like a river. Wareham Morris explores the world through other eyes, always bold in her use of form, creating high voltage, daring poetry.

Katy is a writer and lecturer in Media and Culture, based in the West Midlands, UK. She has a particular interest in gender and queer studies, identity politics and digital humanities. Her debut pamphlet was a poetry duet entitled, Inheritance published by Mother's Milk Books and was launched at this year's Ledbury Poetry Festival. Her poems have also featured in the webzines I am not a silent poet and Ink, Sweat and Tears. Katy is also the Birmingham, UK Branch Leader of the Women's Equality Party, of which she was a founding member.
