This album contains the score and violin part for nine pieces from ABRSM's Grade 6 Violin syllabus for 2012-2015. Features three pieces from each of Lists A, B and C providing appealing and varied repertoire from which to create a balanced programme for the exam or a concert. Also contains helpful information about the pieces and the exam.

It is always exciting to recieve a new set of exam pieces, to work out suitable combinations with individual pupils in mind, and to judge what would benefit them most in the time span of the exam, and towards their further progressBut one often finds limitations within the choice of the repertoire itself, and a knowledge that long before the sell-by date is up, certain apathy could have set in because of these very restricitions. However I am happy to say, no, truly delighted to propose that this is not the case in the pieces set for this grade. Even within the selected list there is enough contrast of style and content to enable a teacher, and therby each candidate, sufficient scope for complete satisfaction, and for the pupil, the means towards a rewarding and necessaary music and technical development. * ESTA *
