William C. Chittick is a professor of religious studies in the department of Asian and Asian-American studies at Stony Brook University. He is author and translator of many books and articles on Ibn 'Arabi, Rumi, and other Muslim thinkers. His more recent works include Divine Love: Islamic Literature and the Path to God and In Search of the Lost Heart: Explorations in Islamic Thought. He lives in New York.
