Visiting the Bard by Alasdair Campbell
A collection of short stories set in Lewis. Often hilarious, often tragic, often poignant, the stories transcend the landscape in which the stories are set and turn them into universal human truths.
Alasdair Campbell, born in Ness, Lewis and educated at the Nicolson Institute and Aberdeen University, has worked on oil rigs for many years and more recently been a Writer in Residence at Sabhal Mor Ostaig in Skye. He is a noted Gaelic writer and his creative work has also been broadcast in English. He is also the author of "The Nessman," for which he won a Scottish Arts Council Book Award. He currently lives in Ness.
