The Voice of the Sea by Simon Magorian
The first book in a new series.A traditional British mystery, although with a contemporary theme. It is humorous, with social satire amongst the mayhem but in terms of structure (playing fair with the reader) a traditional whodunnit. If you like your mysteries with some social comedy thrown in then the Barclay novels are for you.

He is a well known figure in the field of social activism and has played a leading role in anti-fascist politics on the south coast and in London. He lives in Southsea.
