The Mercedes Benz Montagu of Beaulieu Trophy was awarded to freelance journalist Ian Wagstaff for his book The Brits at Le Mans. Before becoming publicity and promotions manager at Silverstone in the late 1970s, he wrote for Autosport and Motoring News. His current job takes him to races all around Europe and the United States, including the Indianapolis 500, for Racecar Engineering, Race Engine Technology, Performance Racing Industry, The Paddock, The Red Bulletin, and Auto Technology.
