A Walk With Grannie by Mairi Hedderwick
Mairie Hedderwick is famous for her depiction of characers and rural life in the best-selling Katie Morag series. In A Walk with Grannie, she does what she does best. In vibrant singing watercolours, she traces the steps of Grannie and her small charge, past sheep, ducks, and Highland cattle - all the way around the farms and back. But a journey is never simple with Hedderwick. Her uniquely detailed artist's eye pinpoints the escapades and humour in the natural world which will so excite and enthral her young readers.

Mairie Hedderwick was born in Gourrock. She left the mainland for the Isle of Coll where she and her crofting husband brought up their young family. She has never quite left the island - and still returns to paint, and to ponder the island life which has enriched her craft for so long.
