Twelve years after the death of his twin brother, Jack Toland's youthful dazzle has dimmed. Drinking heavily and estranged from his wife, he is unable to make progress on his book. Out of the blue, she summons him to Geneva to look after their daughter while she takes an unexplained absence.
Richard Kearney was born in Cork in 1954. He is a Professor of Philosophy at University College, Dublin. He has written many books on philosophy and culture as well as two novels, SAM'S FALL and WALKING AT SEA LEVEL. He lives with his wife and children in Dublin
