War No More by Robert Hinde

Eliminating the barriers to peace
'A thoughtful and impassioned manifesto that challenges the morality, not just of scientists, but of leaders, decision-makers and citizens everywhere' -- New Scientist
Robert Hinde was Emeritus Royal Society Research Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow and former Master of St John's College. He trained as an RAF pilot in WW2 and wrote extensively on the causes of wars. He was the co-author of War No More (Pluto, 2003) and held the Hitchcock Professorship at the University of California, Berkeley, and was an honorary Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences. Joseph Rotblat (1908-2005) was a British-naturalised Polish physicist who participated in the U.S. atomic bomb project. After the war, he devoted himself to the peaceful application of nuclear physics. In 1955 he joined a group of scientists arguing for an end to nuclear weapons, and helped to found the annual series of conferences on arms control. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995 and was the co-author of War No More (Pluto, 2003).
