Tom Wells is the author of three books: The War Within: America's Fight for Vietnam, Wild Man: The Life and Times of Daniel Ellsberg, and (co-authored with Richard A. The Norfolk Four, Murder, Fake Confessions, and the Wrong Men (Leo) He's also written for books about the Vietnam War and the 1960s. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a doctorate in sociology. The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Science Foundation, George Soros' Open Society Center, the Institute for the Study of International Politics, the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation, and the John F. Kennedy School of Government have all awarded him fellowships and grants.
The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, the Lyndon B. Johnson Foundation, the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas, Columbia University, and the University of California, Berkeley are among the organizations that have supported the Kennedy Library Foundation. He currently resides in Boulder, Colorado, and works as a freelance book editor. Wells was described as an extraordinary historian by the Washington Post reviewer of Wild Man.
