He wrote about his experiences as an editor and columnist, as well as his role as a watchdog who challenged the powerful's hubris and held them accountable. Mike, who was equal parts preacher, mentor, comedian, and salesperson, talked about Tikkun olam, Hebrew for repair of the world, a notion that refers to a desire to live and act in a way that benefits the rest of the world. That philosophy was reflected in his work. Mike died in 2007 when he was 54 years old.
