This work tells the story of the war years in Leicester. It describes the meticulous planning of such men as Charles Keene, chairman of the Emergency Committee, and of the air raids that demolished many parts of the city - claiming 122 victims and injuring almost 300 more.
Ben Beazley was born and brought up in Leicester. He served in the leicester city Police and Leicestershire constabulary for twenty eight years. On eof his previous books is a history of Leicester city Police (Breedon 2001)/ Ben retired in 1993 and since then has pursued his interest in local history full time.
