Kate Lyons was born in Broken Hill in 1965. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Technology in Sydney. Her poetry and short prose has been published in a number of literary magazines, including Westerly, Hermes, and Overland. The Water Underneath is her first novel. She now lives in Katoomba NSW.
