She's also the author of several picture books, including the Ezra Jack Keats Award-winning Elizabeti's Doll. Bodeen grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm. Her earliest pals were cows, whom she named after fictional characters. She went on to volunteer for the Peace Corps in East Africa and has lived in seven states as well as a remote Pacific island since then.
She is a bookworm who who like cheese. She resides in the state of Oregon.
