Nelson, Derek: - Derek Nelson, born in 1977, lives in Kells, County Meath, Ireland. Known affectionately as Del, he carries the nickname since the age of 14. Derek hails from a family of 11 children and his parents tell him that when he was a child, he'd often wander off to other worlds in his imagination, possibly for a bit of peace and quiet! Derek's carried this vivid imagination with him into adulthood for us all to enjoy here in this, his first book, Well-Keeper Island. When he's not writing, Derek works in the shipping industry.
