Caroline Leech is a public relations consultant and writer, and was Head of Press and Public Affairs at Welsh National Opera until late 2005. Also featured in this book are contributions from: Richard Fawkes brings together the landmark moments of WNO's first forty years in a tribute to the WNO pioneers. Simon Rees brings together the thoughts of WNO's General Directors on the developing musical maturity of the Company. Kiran Ridley's photographic essay features the WNO Company on tour, showing the reality behind the on-stage glitter. Neil Bennett followed WNO into its new base in Wales Millennium Centre, showing the company at home as it prepared for it's opening season. Brian Tarr's specially commissioned portraits of members of WNO offer an intimate view into their lives behind the curtain. Peter Gill's art direction, with design by Kelly Walters, has created this dramatic showcase for the visual beauty and power of WNO's operas.
