Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific by Graeme Cresswell

Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific is the most comprehensive photographic guide to the marine mammals of the North American Pacific (Baja California, Mexico to South East Alaska), covering all 38 species of cetacean (whales, dolphins and porpoises), six species of seals and sea lions, and the sea otter.

Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific covers each species' key identification features and includes information on behaviour, status and distribution. Colour distribution maps and full-colour artwork accompanies the text for each species. The book's 38 remarkable colour plates depict typical views of cetaceans at sea, including images of some species never previously published.

Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific provides extensive information on where, when and how to go whalewatching and a guide to the best places to watch, including four accounts of outstanding days on the water. There are additional chapters on the geography, climate and oceanography of the North American Pacific.

Proceeds from the sale of each book will be donated to the American Cetacean Society.
Dylan Walker and Graeme Cresswell are coauthors of several books, most recently the WILDGuides title Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific (with Todd Pusser). Walker is a leading authority on the whales and dolphins of the European Atlantic. The first person to run whale-watching tours in the Bay of Biscay, he has now crossed Biscay and the English Channel more than 200 times. An accomplished author, photographer, and tour guide, Walker now works for whale and dolphin conservation charity ORCA, and co-owns ethical ecotourism business Planet Whale. Cresswell, an accomplished marine mammal writer and photographer, has traveled extensively throughout the North Atlantic and North Pacific, where he has now photographed more than thirty species of cetacean. His articles and images have been widely published in magazines and newspapers, scientific journals, and books. He is a founding member of ORCA.
