George David Weiss (1921-2010) was a prolific lyricist, arranger, and film music composer who lived from 1921 until 1910. He composed or rewrote the lyrics to such iconic songs as Ella Fitzgerald's Lullaby of Birdland, Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love, The Tokens' The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. Weiss was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.
