What Shapes An Ape by G Douthwaite

Six o'Clock Fox C opper coat ablaze, tail brushing stubble, he stalks, pauses...picking paws he pricks signal ears, directs wet pebble eyes beyond his twitch of whiskers. Freeze-framed, he holds the moment, then sweeps to streak towards the swelling sun. From deadly dinosaurs to jealous jellyfish, these ingenious poems tell intriguing tales in shapes and words. Packed with poignancy and wit, wacky typography and animals galore, this unique collection is the perfect springboard for budding shape poets of all ages!
Born in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, in 1947, Gina has spent most of her working life in the countryside as a field technician with the Ministry of Agriculture. After qualifying as a Creative Writing tutor, she set up and continues to run Creative Writing workshops for adults and for children. For several years now Gina has been a Literature Adviser to the Regional Arts Board. Married with two daughters and two loveable dogs, Gina remains in Yorkshire surrounded by fields, trees and rolling hills, allowing her to focus on what she loves best, reading, walking, and writing.
