This is a superbly presented collection of photographs of Manchester United from its early days until 1992, newly selected from over 10,000 images in the Daily Mirror archive.  These evocative pictures, many previously unpublished, bring to life the important events in United's history.

Andy Mitten - whose great uncle Charlie Mitten starred in Matt Busby's first great side - started the respected fanzine United We Stand, which he still edits, aged 15 in 1989. A regular writer for FourFourTwo, and a contributor to The Independent, The Mail on Sunday, Sport, The Guardian and GQ in the UK, as well as numerous foreign publications around the world. He has visited 85 countries in every continent, covering games from Israel to the Faroes and interviewed the likes of Ronaldinho, Keane, Gerrard, Messi and John Gidman. Manchester born and red, Andy divides his time between M16 and Barcelona. He has written or co-written nine books including the critically acclaimed 'We're the Famous Man United', Paddy Crerand's autobiography 'Never Turn The Other Cheek' and 'Mad For It - From Blackpool to Barcelona, Football's Greatest Rivalries.'
