Die funfzehn Beitrage dieses Bandes analysieren spezifische Falle von Kanonisierung und Kanonbildung im Hinduismus, Jinismus, Sikhismus, Buddhismus, Konfuzianismus, Daoismus und Shinto. Sie zeigen, dass die angesprochenen Fragen nur durch die grundliche religionshistorische Erforschung dieser Prozesse fruchtbar zu diskutieren sind. Die Autoren, allesamt ausgewiesene Experten in ihren Forschungsgebieten, tragen mit ihren Beitragen substanziell zum Forschungsdiskurs uber die jeweilige religiose Tradition bei. Greg Borzo has been biking all his life. Born on the Northwest Side of Chicago, he has lived most of his life in Chicago and is active in many of the city s cultural and biking circles. Greg has a bachelor s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Grinnell College and a master s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. In addition to having completed hundreds of freelance gigs, Greg has been a full-time reporter, editor and/or writer atModern Railroads Magazine, Traffic World, International Thompson Transport Press, The Business Word, American Medical Association, Harcourt Brace, The Field Museum, Momentum Magazineand University of Chicago. An award-winning journalist, Greg is the author ofThe Windies City: Chicago s Historical Hidden Treasures(Highlights of Chicago Press, 2006) andThe Chicago L(Arcadia Publishing, 2007), a book that covers the history of Chicago s greatest working antique the Elevated Railway. Greg currently works as an independent writer. He is an accomplished public speaker and conducts tours about the L and Chicago history on foot, by bike and on the L.
